Solution for continuous core temperature monitoring
The temperature variable is a key indicator of the patient’s febrile state. The continuous nature of the measurement is quite difficult to obtain and only a few restrictive devices (rectal, esophageal probes, etc.) allow continuous core temperature monitoring.
eCelsius Medical, class IIB medical device, is a miniaturized electronic ingestible capsule that transmits core temperature data continuously.
A dedicated interface, PC and MAC compatible, retrieves data for archiving or clinical use.

Designed by physiologists, the solution was developed to combine comfort and ease of use. It allows continuous core temperature monitoring and meets the key constraints for patient care:
Various applications: research & clinical
The eCelsius Medical solution allows continuous core temperature monitoring to diagnose or control the patient’s febrile state.
Three main applications will be firstly covered: infectious diseases, oncology and sleep disorders.
Temperature monitoring in infectiology is critically important ; fever is indeed a fundamental clinical sign facilitating the implementation of an early and appropriate therapy.
Continuous core temperature monitoring, without human intervention, make possible to reduce medical response times and improve diagnosis reliability, patient comfort and patient care.
Early detection of peak fever is critical for patients treated with chemotherapy and presenting a high risk of febrile illness (aplasia, febrile neutropenia, …). The possibility to continuously monitor the evolution of the temperature variable allows to early detect fever pic and thereby reduce the response time for medical staff.
The core temperature is a key indicator of the biological rhythmicity of the subjects. Continuous monitoring of this variable allows to characterize the circadian rhythm of the core temperature, which is an essential tool for sleep analysis and the diagnosis of sleep disorders.
